In 2008 my life like most others was in turmoil because of the recession. When I paint, the creating is driven by forces transforming onto the canvas with a message. The powerful colors of teal, plum, orange, and red shot onto the canvas. I think this one was painted upside down. When my brush was laid to rest and I sat with my work for a bit. all of a sudden I saw the “Phoenix Rising,” understanding that I was the Phoenix rising from the ashes creating a new me. You may notice the canvas is more dimensional, not the usual type. The painting is wired and ready for a new experience.
