They say when you paint your world opens up. And, this may be the case with my 2008 Dragon Tempest Fortune. I paint never knowing what will appear, only that paint is speaking to me to create, as a musician hears notes and must play. You may notice the pearls from a broken strand that were repurposed without warning. They seem to know where to go. I am never thinking about what to do or how to do, I am "in doing." This painting is a favorite of mine. Usually, my work is pure pigment, where this painting has a good portion of water to give it a "softer feel." "She" gave herself the name of Dragon Tempest Fortune. Sometimes, we have to slay the dragon to bring our fortune forth. The painting is wired and ready to breath forth new fortune.
